At a young age, Adam was initially inspired by his Father’s photography work and the epic coffee-table photo book Eternal America by Yoshikazu Shirakawa, that came with his 1970’s Nikon FT 2 film camera.
That Nikon FT 2 camera was later gifted to Adam as a teenager which began a creative adventure that has spanned several decades across the Rocky Mountains of Colorado through the dynamic Utah terrain, along the historic Route 66 of Arizona, with a pit stop in Area 51 on his way to the wild concrete jungle of Los Angeles, California.
In Los Angeles, Adam refined his craft getting the fantastic opportunity to learn architecture and landscape-cityscape composition from Hollywood Legends such as Michael Mann, the dynamic Director of the epic film Heat. Others include Christopher Nolan, where Adam witnessed cinematic photography composition on the dynamic Film Tenet. Adam experienced firsthand the setup and filming of the 747 crash, then explosion into the Airport terminal…As well as real-life special effects filming of the reverse-time battle scene, building collapse and resurrection shot way-out at the abandoned iron mine, Eagle Mountain in the Colorado Desert in Riverside County, California.
The cinematic experience further influenced his photography when he got the chance to participate with 20th Century Fox Studios both shooting editorial-style model sets in vintage undisclosed locations such as the Original 1920’s Powerhouse, and the scaffolding of Vintage New York Street where they filmed Big Trouble in Little China.
A photographic history pictorial set followed showcasing historic buildings on the studio lot such as The Simpsons Writer’s Building, The original Darryl F. Zanuck Executive Building - with its salacious and morbid history, as well as The Old Writers Building - where you might have seen the creators of the X-Files, 24, and Homeland smoke cigars on their private patio and vociferously hash-out future television episodes.
Adam has incorporated the Monochrome look of Darren Aronofsky’s film PI, the famous Misfits Band Emblem, and the legendary Shepard Fairey’s Andre the Giant Has a Posse into his black-and-white photography.
Whether it is an editorial modeling shoot like Skye at the Usual Suspects Beach Cave at Leo Carrillo State Park. Or out west in the obscure Utah town of Mexican Hat, this dramatic textured style fits home or office decor, interior design projects, gallery shows, and image licensing.
Every image is photographed on 35mm film and conceived with a story and meanin behind it. A sense of purpose and soul are brought to every image.
