Story: Oatman, Arizona was discovered in 1863 when a prospector found gold in the Black Mountains and it quickly grew into a successful mining town. That success continued until around WWII when many of the mining operations closed down, and the town survived on Route 66 traffic between Kingman, Arizona and Needles California. Once I-40 was built hard times set in.

The town now survives as a nostalgic Route 66 stop with a Wild West feel down to the wooden sidewalks, staged shootouts, and wild burros wandering the streets. The federal government rounds up area wide wild burros using helicopters and said, "Oatman is a very particular case because that town's basically all about burros."
